About Royal Ayeyar Gem Stones ( Ruby & Sapphire )
Royal Ayeyar Company Limited was working for gem stones production at Mogok District (also known as Ruby Land), Mandalay Region in Myanmar since 2010. There are many kinds of gem stones and precious stones produced in that area (Ruby Land). When we working for production of gem stones, we specific working for production of ruby and sapphires. Myanmar’s ruby and sapphires are very famous in all over the world and the price of these gem stones are higher the value than other gem stones in Myanmar. A lot of gem stone merchants who are from all over the world are come to Myanmar for buying these stones and selling these precious stones at their countries. Myanmar is a unique destination in Southeast Asia, where most of the precious gem stones are found. Pigeon blood red rubies, jadite stones and pearls are especially famous among international gems and jewellery market.
No other country has rubies of the size, quality or quantity of those mined at Mogok, a town 7700ft ( 234m) above sea level about 70 miles ( 112 km ) northwest of Mandalay. By the 6th century, the feudal lord of Mogok was sending 7lbs (3.17 kg) of rubies as an annual tribute to the king ruling from the centre of the country. In the 15th century, foreigners, such as the Italian merchant named Ludovico Varthema, reported that while in audience with the king of Hanthawady ( Bago ), he saw the monarch wearing “ more rubies on him than the value of a very large city: and he wears them on all his toes. And on his legs he wears certain great rings of gold, all full of the most beautiful rubies; also on his arms and his fingers are full. His ears hang down half a palm, through the great weight of the many jewels he wears there; so that seeing the person of the King by the light at night he shines so much that he appears to be sun”.
A “Myanmar” sapphire holds the world record for price and price per carat. Originally weighing 66.02 carats, this rectangular cut sapphire was bought by John D. Rockefeller Jr. from an Indian maharajah in 1934 and was re-cut more skillfully. In April 2001, it sold at Christie’s in New York for a record $ 3 million. Although fewer sapphires than rubies are found at Mogok, they are of high quality and are highly valued and sough after in the gem trade.
Rubies are always red but a sapphire can be of many colors, including white, which sparkles like diamonds with proper cutting. Other hues are yellow, green, purple and orange, the latest sapphire color in fashion. These unique colors, called ‘ fancy ‘ by gem traders, are cheaper than blue sapphires but can be dazzling and beautiful with the right cut and setting. As in all gems, the three things to look for are color, cut and clarity. Perfect star sapphires are rare and fetch the highest prices in the gem trade.
Both rubies and sapphires are corundum’s, which is the crystalline form of aluminium oxide. Their hardness is rated as 9 (diamonds are 10) and they are the world’s top colored gems. Cabochon rubies or sapphires sometimes have inclusions that form a six point moving star on their surface. The more distinct the star and the more intense and pure the color of the gem, more valuable it will be.
